What's happening?
Analysts to Principals from both next47 and Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners will share their insights into this industry. A general introduction will shed light on what is going on in the VC scene when it comes to women role models. After that follows a hands-on practice session during which you will be able to conduct a short case study to understand what a quick review of a start-up idea may look like. Followed by insights from two women venture capitalists reflecting on their way into the industry and on their careers. Towards the end, there will be a Q&A session.

Itziar Estevez Lataza
Itziar is working for Next47, a Siemens company, formerly Siemens Venture Capital. Itziar joined Siemens VC in 2010 and is based in Munich. She focuses on investments in advanced manufacturing and industrial technologies. Specific areas of interest include cyber security, industrial automation, PLM software, industrial analytics, Internet of Things, and industrial software. Before joining SVC, Itziar worked at The Boston Consulting Group in the London and Munich offices with a focus on private equity and energy projects. Prior to that, Itziar gained operational experience with BMW. She spent 4 years in the Munich production plant designing, implementing and optimizing different production lines. Itziar holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Technical University Munich and University of Navarra, and an MBA from London Business School."
Dr. Anne Kreile
Anne united her top two professional interests, technological innovation and business, in a new job position: She recently joined Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners as Investment Associate. A biomedical scientist by training, she dedicated her early professional life to advancing innovation as a neuroscientist at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology in Munich. Prompted by her curiosity about transforming scientific findings into successful products and applications, Anne then moved into TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) strategy consulting for companies and investors. Taking on her new role in venture capital, Anne is particularly enthusiastic about fostering innovative start-ups and unleashing their potential of growing into sustainable, large-scale businesses, thereby driving a beneficial technological progress.
Alexander Kiltz
Alex is responsible for deal sourcing, screening and due diligence at Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners. Previously, he co-founded a startup and worked at two other startups as well as in private equity and consulting which helps him to evaluate technology-based business models. Alex thrives on the opportunity to be immersed in innovative technologies, market trends, and scalable startups. He has an educational background in Management & Technology from the Technical University of Munich majoring in Finance and Electrical Engineering. Alex enjoys engaging with founders and partnering with fast-growing tech startups that tackle meaningful problems, have a big vision, and a thorough execution plan.
Caroline Roderer
Caroline is an associate in the investment team of next47 Europe and involved in generating deal flow and conducting due diligence. She holds a master’s degree in Information Systems from Technical University of Munich and passed the first two levels of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) program. Before joining Siemens, Caroline gained first work experiences in start-ups and strategy consulting. Caroline enjoys learning about innovative technologies and new business models especially in the industrial environment.
Vanessa Schmidt
Vanessa is conducting due diligence of VC funds as an advisor to the Siemens German Pension Trusts across U.S., Europe, Israel, and China. Prior to this, she was responsible for setting up a technology research project and consulting manufacturing plants in the area of energy and resource efficient production at Fraunhofer. Vanessa gets excited when debating the impact of the many technology innovation she sees on our society and how to encourage more people to become founders based on the great research results we have in German higher education sphere. She holds a master's degree in Management & Technology from the Technical University of Munich.
